(Singapore, ad-wow.com, 1 Mar 2008) As most Singaporeans are basking in the glory of winning the bid for Youth Olympic Games (YOG 2010), Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) have taken a significant step to enhance the city's vibrant image by giving the Singapore River a facelift.
Scheduled to begin in April 2008, the 2-phase refurbishing works will focus on enhancing the lighting along the Singapore River, the links to several attractions such as the Esplanade, Clarke Quay and Boat Quay. By March 2009, we will see ambient lighting installed along the bridges, trees, river walls, boat landings, and staircases from Cavenagh Bridge to Clarke Quay. “ These are part of the effort to create more night-time buzz in the area. Like Orchard road and the Marina Bay precincts, the Singapore River has the potential to stand out as a distinctive 24-hour entertainment lifestyle destination,' said Ms Margaret Teo, assistant chief executive (leisure) during the press conference yesterday.
AdWOW! is honoured to be part of the team in the digital conceptualisation process. More than 10 artist impressions of the Singapore River have been released to the public. “We believe these efforts of STB would definitely enhance the night scene during the 2008 F1 Singapore Grand Prix, and have a lasting impression in enhancing Singapore’s image as the world’s unique vibrant city .” Creative Group Head of AdWOW!, Munping Chong commented.
Let’s look ahead to more exciting moments while we anticipate the arrival of F1 Racing in September 2008 and the YOG 2010!
